Home exchange-PA is now seeking individuals in the Philadelphia and South New Jersey area for a unique position that requires strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills. A typical day will include both a highly focused investigation of a building issue requiring our Handyman service and sales oriented conversation with a customer. Our most successful inspectors/estimators enjoy solving problems and enjoy interacting with people.
The key role of the estimator is to meet with customer(s) that have requested an estimate for home repair and/or carpentry work to be done. Estimators typically meet with potential customer(s), face-to-face, at the location where the work is to be done. Prepare home repair & carpentry proposals for such structures as houses, decks, fences, and businesses.
Handyman services, home repair and carpentry for all types of work.
Perform residential and commercial inspections related to water intrusion, building failure and indoor environmental problems.
Ability to inspect tight attics and crawlspaces
Create estimates and sell remediation services (in a very low-pressure sales environment)
Write detailed reports outlining source and extent of problem and proposed solution.
Develop referral sources by meeting with realtors, home inspectors, etc.
Ensure successful completion of remediation projects.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Construction bidding/estimating experience
Review customer documents and understand scope of work to invoice.
Must have a cell phone, a reliable vehicle & basic computer skills. Must provide a valid Driver's License & Social Security Card.
General construction experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate highly technical concepts in an easy to understand manner.
Able to quickly switch between different tasks such as inspecting, creating bids, sales, etc.
